University Bookstore - COVID-19 Procedures

 

Lockdown Protocols in Effect - April 8, 2021

Due to government stay-at-home orders, the Bookstore will be moving to curbside pick up only. All purchases since March 22 are eligible for our extended return and exchange policy- 14 days from when we reopen for in-store shopping. Curbside pick up hours will be between 12 pm and 4 pm. Order shipments will continue to be fulfilled. Email us at bookstore@uoguelph.ca if you have any questions.


Getting Your Textbooks

All textbooks must be purchased online, where you can have your order shipped to you or you can pick it up in store. If picking up in store, you must wait for an email indicating your order is ready for pick up. Bookings are no longer required to pick up your order. All order pick ups can be made at the Info Desk inside the Bookstore.

We will do our best to have all in store pick ups ready 24-48 hours after ordering. Shipping will take 5-10 business days for your order to be delivered during peak periods.

We will continue to ship all course materials to students. Free shipping within Canada and standard shipping charges internationally. 

When coming to the store to pick up your order, please ensure you have you order confirmation and a valid piece of government ID. You also must fill out the U of G's COVID-19 Screening form before coming to campus.

 

New Store Procedures

 

Please take note of our store policies as we do our best to protect our customers, staff, and community. Please see below a list of changes of how the Bookstore aims to offer a safe shopping environment.

  • Face coverings are required to enter the store
  • We are allowing a maximum of 10 customers in the store
  • We have gone cashless. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Amex, debit, and meal plans
  • Sanitizer is available at several locations within the store
  • Plexiglass at all point-of-sales
  • Change rooms are not available
  • All textbook orders are pick-up and shipping only and must be ordered in advance

Gryph’s Locker can allow up to a maximum of 9 customers in store at one time.

 

Returns/Exchanges

Our return/exchange policy has been extended to 14 days after the end of lockdown. Aside from timing, our standard return policy still applies. All textbooks purchased after January are non-returnable unless the student has dropped the course and has proof of dropping the course.

Items can be returned or exchanged in-store or shipped back to us. If you had an order shipped to you and are looking to return or exchange an item, please send it back to us in its original condition, include the packing slip, and a note indicating whether you would like a return or exchange. Clothing must have the tags on, and textbooks must be in the same condition and packaging as they were delivered. Customers will be responsible for any return shipping.


Meal Plans

We are now taking student card payments. You must have one of the following meal plans: Textbook, Carryover, Flex, Staff/Faculty, and Gift Cards.

We do not accept the Ultra Plan.

We are unable to take student card payment for all ebook and digital access codes. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Graduation Gown Rentals

Gown and hood rentals are available again. We offer several rental windows throughout the year, spring, summer, and fall. Please note that rentals are for students who wish to take pictures in U of G graduation regalia only. They are not for official convocations. Please visit our Gown Rental site to rent.
