Living Languages

This is a study which focuses on the central role of language on people's lives. It directs students to a deeper critical understanding of their own and others' use of language. It begins with an exploration of previous language experiences in the home, community, pre-college schooling, and then in higher education, professional life and civic life. The text includes explorations of popular culture and literary language.
