Easy Returns and Exchanges
1) Return to store (FREE)
Bring your receipt or order confirmation email/invoice (on your mobile device or printed) and the credit card used for the original purchase.
If you do not have your order information, we will not be unable to issue a refund or credit. Please bring a government-issued form of identification (i.e. a driver’s license or other government issued ID). Shipping is not refundable.
2) Ship Your Items Back
If you received items by mail, it's easy to send them back.
Put the items you're returning in the original package if possible.
Returns:
Use the packing slip sent with your order or print your order details from the Order History page, circle the items you’re returning, and indicate the reason for return.
If you cannot print your order details, write the following information on a sheet of paper:
- Your order number
- The item number and description for each item being returned
- The reason for return
Exchanges:
Use the packing slip sent with your order or print your order details from the Order History page, circle the items you’re exchanging.
If you can’t print your order details, write the following information on a sheet of paper:
- Your order number
- The item number and description for each item being exchanged
- The item number, colour, size, and price for each desired exchange
Unfortunately, exchanges can only be done for items of the same price or higher. We will contact you if additional payment is required.
Once your package is ready, choose a mail carrier, pay for postage, and send it to the address below.

Used textbooks and custom courseware (ie. course manuals) are not returnable at any time.
eBooks and Access Codes purchased online are non-returnable.
Clothing and gifts can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase. Items must be in their original packaging, condition, and have tags still attached.
Non-Returnable Items
All opened shrink-wrapped packages, e-books, access codes, gift cards, face coverings, lab (course) manuals, course packs, used textbooks, magazines, dissection kits, computer disks, CD’s, headphones/ear buds, ink cartridges, batteries, calculators, cassettes, and In-Store E-Text cards.
Trade Books
General trade and reference books are returnable within 7 days of purchase. Items must be in their original packaging and condition.
Order Pickup and Abandoned Orders
Pickup orders will be held for up to 30 days and then they will be considered abandoned. After 30 days we will contact you by email to remind you to pick up your order. If it is not picked up within 14 days of this reminder it will be considered abandoned and will be recycled.
If you are unable to pick your order within 30 days, you can request that it be shipped for an additional cost. Please contact bookstore@uoguelph.ca for more information. Abandoned orders are not eligible for refund or store credit.
