Distributed Systems

The second edition of this book has two new chapters on Distributed Operating Systems (principle and practice), featuring systems like MACH, AMoeba, Chorus and V. There is also a new chapter on case studies of distributed applications, including CSCW (Computer Supported Co-operative Work) examples, and increased coverage of security issues, including Kerberos and more modern material on worms and viruses. Other changes include revision of the chapter on architecture to add overviews of object-oriented, multicast and shared virtual memory architectures, and general updating throughout.
