Reflecting the most current scholarship, this historiographical collection of readings explores Canadian history topically. Rather than explore Canadian history chronologically, noting significant events, the authors have compiled writings on recurrent Canadian themes. By comparing differing interpretations of historical evidence and different approaches to historical problems, students are encouraged to think critically about the issues that have shaped Canada as a nation.
